Hi, I’m Anita Hartog – founder of Rooted & Renewed and One Heart At A Time Foundation, real estate professional, podcast host, speaker, mental health advocate, and a woman whose story is marked by both deep pain and powerful transformation.
I’m a suicide survivor. At 18, I reached a breaking point so dark I almost didn’t make it. Thirty years later, I had to endure the unimaginable—losing my 19-year-old nephew to suicide. That pain cracked something open in me, but it also ignited a fire. I knew I couldn’t stay silent. I had to do something. That’s when One Heart At A Time was born—a mission to remind people, especially our youth, that they matter, they’re not alone, and healing is possible.
I’ve walked through storms most wouldn’t expect: I was married to a multimillionaire who, over time, lost everything to meth addiction. Watching someone I loved fall so far—and feeling powerless to stop it—nearly broke me. But I didn’t stay broken. I chose to heal. And that choice is what drives everything I do now.
Today, I use every bit of that lived experience to teach, lead, and inspire. I’ve been blessed to learn life-changing tools rooted in neuroscience, inner healing, and emotional intelligence—and I continue to learn, every single day, so I can show up fully equipped to help others rise.
I’m an empath to the core. I feel things deeply. Sometimes I can sense someone’s emotional weight before they even speak—and I consider that sensitivity a sacred gift. It allows me to hold space in a way that makes people feel seen, safe, and supported.
If you're here, it’s not by accident. Maybe you're in a hard season. Maybe you’re trying to find your way back to yourself. I want you to know: you’re not alone. You can rise. You can heal. You can begin again—and I’d be honored to walk beside you as you do.
